  •  Seaweed harvester’s museum:

A museum that is at once historical, ethnographic and turned towards the scientific and economic future, the Seaweed and Seaweed Museum presents the evolution of the seaweed trade and the many applications of seaweed from the 19th century to the present day.


Individual rates (without comment)


Full: 5€; reduced (children 7 to 12 years old, students and job seekers) and passport 3€; family (2 adults and 2 children) 15€ + 3€ per additional person. Free under 7 years old.
Visits of the museum:
From April 4th to May 4th every day except Monday 2pm-6pm.
From May 5 to June 14: Saturday and Sunday 2pm-6pm
From 15 June to 27 September: every day except Monday: 14h-18h
+ In July and August: Thursday 10.30am-12.30pm
Guided tours (July-August): Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2.30pm (museum entrance +1€)

Red, green, brown, Brittany has more than 800 species of seaweed. How to identify them, which are the food seaweeds, how to cook them? After the discovery, time for tasting...
Duration 1h30 - provide suitable clothing and shoes.

Making a seaweed tree:
Creative workshop for children from 7 to 12 years old to learn how to recognize different species of algae and conserve them by making a seaweed tree. Duration 1h30
Dates: Thursday 30th July / Thursday 13th August
Children from 7 to 12 years old - Price: 5€.

 

  • Knowing and cooking seaweed with chef David Royer:

Red, green, brown, Brittany has more than 800 species of seaweed. How to identify them, what kind of seaweed is used for food, and how to cook them? After a discovery of seaweed on the foreshore, you will go to the kitchen for a course with chef David Royer and dine facing the sea (please bring suitable clothing and shoes). Duration: ½ course one day.
Limited number of places (on reservation)
Dates: Monday 8 June 1:30 pm / Monday 21 September 1:30 pm

Cooking with seaweed:


Educational workshop for children from 7 to 12 years old. The cooking workshop for children proposes to taste and learn how to cook seaweed in a playful way. What is the taste of this plant from the sea? Which seaweeds can be eaten and how to prepare them? Duration 1h30

37th Seaweed Festival:


Since 1983, the volunteers of the Karreg-hir association have been gathering on the dunes of Penn-Enez and in the strike for a reconstitution of the trade of seaweed boaters of the 1920-1950s. On the programme: unloading of traditional boats, transport (cart, stretcher) burning in the seaweed ovens, exhibitions, projections, conferences, tasting and seaweed product stand.
Date: Sunday 30 August 2020: Koréjou harbour, from 2pm.
Price: Free participation.
